Chapter 352

She was puzzled as Milly trailed behind the guy ahead. Hadn't they just shooed her away?

Now, why were they summoning her back?

Typically, kidnappers nab someone, stash them to the side, and hunker down for the ransom, right?

So what was up with them seeking her out again now?

With a storm of questions raging, Milly followed the goon back to the previously occupied room.

There, Nimbus was perched in his usual spot in front of the couch, leisurely enjoying stea, while Raiden

marched back and forth next to him, clearly agitated, phone in hand:

“That Smith guy, | swear! His favourite hobby must be throwing threats my way! He really thinks he can scare

me? As if! Acting all high and mighty just because he’s in with the Boss and his right-hand man. Big deal! He's

not getting anywhere near being the sect leader without my say-so! Just you watch; one of these days, I'm going

to make him regret messing with me!”

Her heart unexpectedly leapt as Milly caught the n“Smith” being thrown around.

Her mind raced - her foster parents and Leon were all back in Maldonia, like this Ghost Sect’s headquarter. Could

this “Smith” be one of the Smiths?

But then she reconsidered; it seemed too far-fetched. “Smith” wasn’t an uncommon nthere, and her Smiths

were straightforward, decent folks.

The likelihood of them being mixed up with the Ghost Sect seemed slim.

“Mr. Raiden, I've brought the person you asked for.”

With a gentle nudge from the person behind her, she took awkward steps forward until she stood right before

Raiden.

Raiden casually gestured for the other person to leave with a wave of his hand.

“Sure thing,” cthe reply.

Then, Raiden made himself comfortable on the couch, sizing up Milly with a keen and evaluative gaze.

He casually flipped open his lighter, lit a cigarette, and beckoned, “Cover here.”

Milly moved closer. As she did, Raiden casually exhaled a few smoke rings towards her, making her cough and

splutter.

“Cough, cough.”

She thought, annoyed, This guy's really ...

Raiden lounged back on the sofa. “Can you dance? Dance a little to entertain me.”

Milly breathed deeply, coughing out the smoke before responding, “No...”

Just as she was about to decline, she changed her mind, “Actually, yes, | can. | can dance any style you want-

classical, ballet, jazz. I'll cater to your preferences.”

Her compliant tone slightly improved Raiden’s mood. “Then, do a strip dance.”

Milly was speechless.

She realised now. He had been venting about her over the phone, so he called her here to be a punching bag

and dance to cheer himself up.

Man, you really shouldn't try to mess with me!

Muttering under her breath but smiling pleasantly, she showcased her incredible acting ability. “Of course, sir.

However, you've literally putin a bind here. So, even if | felt like dancing, | couldn't. Maybe untie the rope

first?”

Without skipping a beat, Raiden commanded, “Someone, untie her.”

“No!” Nimbus quickly interjected, “Now’s not the tto untie her. You demanded entertainment, and |

delivered. You can do as you please with her, but untying her is not an option.”

Milly blinked sadly, gazing at Nimbus with a soft voice, “But sir, if you don’t untie the rope, how can | dance?”

Raiden ignored what was being said, even showing a bit of scorn, “Look, Nimbus, you're overthinking it. We've

got plenty of security here. Do you really think she could walk out? And if she’s got strick up her sleeve, it's

not like she’s faster than a bullet. I'm not buying it.”

While he was technically talking to Nimbus, he was clearly sending a not-so-subtle message to Milly - don’t even

think about trying to make a run for it. He made it seem as if escaping from here was an impossible feat.

Milly wasn’t naive. She immediately picked up on what Raiden was implying and showed a hint of nervousness,

“There's no way I'd try it. | wouldn't even dream of running away, no matter what.”

Understanding her predicament, Raiden’s expression softened slightly. He raised his hand and signalled his

henchman to untie Milly's rope.

Even though Nimbus still seemed a bit upset, not saying much, just his lips moving, Milly felt relieved once she

was free.

She stretched her arms and wrists, sounding surprisingly upbeat as she said, “Hey, I'll dance for you right away,

but... the thing is, I'm a bit on the conservative side. | don’t mind dancing for you, but with all these people

watching, it will be awkward forif it gets out, you know?”

After expressing her concerns, she seemed somewhat shy and hesitant, almost on the verge of tears, as she

looked at Raiden.

“Well then ...

Bang!!!

Before Raiden could finish his sentence, a sharp gunshot interrupted him.

Nimbus remained expressionless on the sofa, making no effort to adjust his posture. He withdrew his hand from

pointing the gun at the sky, casually blowing on the still- smoking barrel. With a calm glance at Raiden, he said,

“Continue. Why stop now? What were you going to say?”

Raiden was taken aback by the intensity in his eyes, causing him to pause mid- sentence. He hit the table hard,

looking furiously at Milly, “You're my prisoner now. Not killing you is already more kindness than you deserve.

Don’t get bold and start asking for things!”

Milly just stayed silent.

Wasn't Raiden known as a third sect master?

He was supposed to be as strong as Nimbus, maybe even more important, since being a third sect master is

typically a bigger deal than fourth sect master. So, why does Raiden seem so thrown off by Nimbus?

The Ghost Sect is more mysterious than anyone thought!

Milly straightened up, quickly taking in her surroundings. She was in a large room that used to be a factory,

pretty bare-bones. With the size of the space and the armed guards around, getting out was not an option.

Trying to escape could end really badly.

She peered outside, seeing it was still dark. It had to be around midnight. Jordan and the others probably hadn't

noticed she was gone; they wouldn't check her room until later. It looked like she'd have to get out of this alone.
