Chapter 410

"So, he's been grooming you to be his heir all along! You had no idea, did you? And now, after all that rebellion,

you might not even be the heir after all!"

Calliope's words hit like a lightning bolt, leaving everyone around in stunned realization. The crowd murmured in

admiration, marveling at Calliope's boldness.

Gideon was jolted awake, his Adam's apple bobbing as he struggled to respond, his face flushed with

embarrassment. He couldn't find a single word to counter her because deep down, he knew Calliope was right.

He'd always assumed that since the company was called Baker Group, it was his by birthright. And as for being

groomed as an heir... well, now that he thought about it, Silas had indeed been preparing him.

This realization left him feeling a bit annoyed with himself.

"Oh, and you said | was just in it for the money, right? You accused Silas of stealingaway, didn't you?"

Calliope chuckled, looking directly at Gideon. "Silas and | got together naturally. Sure, it was a marriage of

convenience at first, but I love him. He didn't stealaway!"

"Gideon, you ran off on our wedding day! You ditchedfor Yvette, and while you had the right to change your

mind, running away was not the way to do it!"

"The wedding was imminent, and | needed someone to step in, so | asked Silas to be my groom. If you could find

another woman on our wedding day, why couldn't | find another man? Silas was my choice, | brought him into

my life!"

"But you know what? | should thank you. If you hadn't run off, I'd never have gotten to know Silas so deeply. He's

a thousand times better than you! Before, | didn't know what | was missing, but now | do. Silas is wonderful, and

I love him dearly!"

"So don't you dare speak ill of him in front of me. Even if you do, I'll always defend him!"

Calliope's voice rang clear and strong, her presence commanding the attention of everyone present. Her words

were met with applause from the crowd.

"That was brilliant!"

"So that's the real story!"

"Wow, | thought Silas had stolen his nephew's bride!"

"Calliope is incredible! Why doesn't the Jewell family like her? She's beautiful, smart, and speaks so eloquently!

She even stands up for Silas!"

"It's hilarious, seeing Mr. Myers being defended by a woman. It's like the world turned upside down!"

"But he looks quite pleased with himself, doesn't he? Look at that smug grin!"

"Calliope's the real deal! She's not only capable but stunning too! And that bottle smash earlier was epic."

"Way to go, Callie!" Uriah started clapping, "That was sserious style!"

"Had to be done." Calliope smirked, raising an eyebrow before turning her gaze back to Gideon. "Gideon, are you

awake now? Did you get the message, or should | spell it out |

again?"

Gideon stood there, pale as a ghost, unable to muster a single retort.

"Silas, let's go. I'm tired." Calliope turned, slipping back into her role as the doting wife.

Silas, eyes full of adoration, stepped

forward,

taking her hand. He sing

final glance at Gideon beading Calliope away.
