Once Sierra was done, she cout to see Theo sitting on the bed with a book. She climbed onto their bed and asked, "Don't you have to work overttoday?" Putting his book down, he pulled her into his embrace. "I was worried that you'd be scared to be alone here." Freezing momentarily, she glared at him and said embarrassedly, "You're just overthinking things. I'm not scared at all." He chuckled as he pulled her closer toward him. "Oh, is it? Then, can you tellwhat on earth has happened in school today?" Caught off guard, she ran her fingers through her hair, revealing, "Cayden confessed to me, and..." Realizing what she had just said, she immediately lifted her head, forgetting the fact that her fingers were still in her hair.
"Ouch!" A sharp pain shot through her scalp, and she immediately teared up when she looked at Theo. She had a guilty expression as she pouted. "You tricked me." Theo reached out to rub her scalp and apologized, "I'm sorry. I didn't think you'd end up hurting yourself." Sierra huffed repeatedly before lowering her voice to explain.
"Cayden said that he liked me, but he had no intentions of ruining our marriage. He said he just wanted to tellto avoid any lifelong regrets." "Do you like him, though?" Theo did not seem to care about how Cayden felt. He just wanted to know how she felt about it.
Sierra did not hesitate as she shook been like a her head. "He's always seen him brother to me, livel I've always seen him as a friend, and even if I weren't with you, I would have still rejected him." Cayden was a kind person and always looked out for everyone. Sierra had not managed to sense his feelings toward her because of that very reason.
After having been misunderstood and humiliated by Benson, she had not held much hope for love and would not have been swayed so easily.
