Chapter 403 To Fall III The creditors finally made their final stand, declaring they would cto seize the house in three days.

William paced back and forth in the living room, cursing under his breath, "What the hell? Three days? It's just about money. Back in the day, I had more than enough—that amount was nothing!" He expressed disgust. "Now that I'm down on my luck, they're here to kickwhile I'm down. Shameless, despicable bastards..." The more he ranted, the angrier he became. His face turned deep red, his hands turned red, and his mind began to cloud. As he paced, he felt as if his soul were leaving his body.

"Oh no! William, w-what's wrong with you?" Vera watched in horror as William collapsed to the floor, convulsing. Frozen in panic, her face twisted with worry, she called out to him repeatedly, but he didn't respond. Frantic, she rushed to grab the phone, stumbling along the way.

"Hello, 911? My husband just collapsed—I don't know why! Please, hurry and help him!" She sobbed.

After confirming their address and being assured that help was on the way, Vera set the phone down. She wanted to move him to the couch, but she remembered the doctor's warning. Helpless, she wrung her hands, pacing in place.

The thought of hospital bills and countless other looming troubles overwhelmed her. She picked up the phone again.

At first, she started dialing Sierra's number, only to hesitate halfway. After a moment of indecision, she called Xavier instead. "Xavier, your dad collapsed. I called 911-you need to chnow!" Xavier, in the middle of an important meeting at work, froze at the news. Only when his assistant quietly nudged him did he snap back to reality. He bolted up, sprinting out without even bothering to grab his coat.

Behind him, the rest of the team exchanged bewildered glances. Their minds were already racing with speculation.

The supervisor overseeing his training immediately relayed the situation back to Gray Corporation.

Theo had no interest in the Shaws, but considering Sierra's ties to the family, he still sent someone to investigate what exactly had happened.

When Xavier arrived at the hospital, William was already in the emergency room. Only Vera sat outside, her face pale. Seeing how distraught she was, Xavier gave her shoulder a reassuring pat, "Mom." The moment she saw him, she couldn't hold back her tears. The way William had looked earlier had terrified her! "Xavier, sdebt collectors cto the house today. They said if we can't pay, we'll have to move out. Your dad was so furious-he shouted at them, then suddenly collapsed...

"What are we going to do? Are we going to lose the house? Where will we live? And your dad-what's wrong with him?" The barrage of questions made Xavier's head throb. He forced down his frustration and reassured her, "Don't worry. Even if we lose house, we won't end up on the streets. As long as the cohet? stilfrunning, we'll bounce back.

"Dad's in good hands now the doctors won't let anything happen to him." With her son beside her, Vera

seemed to find ssupport and appeared steadier than before, She wiped her tears before hesitantly asking, "Do you think we should tell Sierra about this?" The father-daughter pair were like natural-born adversaries. They couldn't see eye-to-eye, but despite their mutual disdain, they were still family.

Xavier understood her concern. After a brief silence, he said, "Let's not qall er yet, if Dad wakes up and Wakes her over sees her, he might get so angry he ends up back in the ER."

Vera looked puzzled but nodded. She remembered how William oftenm acted as if he'd rather see his if daughter dead. "Alright. We'll let her visit once he's better." It wouldn't look good if word got out that a daughter showed no concern for her sick father.

Vera had Sierra's best interests at heart, but Xavier fell silent, his expression unreadable. He said nothing more.
