Chapter 241 "Serena..." Aaron had barely spoken her nwhen a lively, eager voice chimed in beside him.
"Aaron, I heard you'd arrived, so I rushed right down!" Cynthia Lynwood hurried over, her eyes flickering with a hint of nervousness. But the moment she spotted the bouquet of roses in Aaron's arms, her whole face lit up. "Are these for me, Aaron?" Aaron's gaze flickered. He glanced over at Serena, who was already striding toward the TV studio, her expression unreadable. His brow furrowed with frustration. Without another word, he shoved the roses into Cynthia Lynwood's hands. "Yeah. They're for you." Cynthia's cheeks flushed pink as she lowered her head, shyly inhaling the scent of the roses. "They're beautiful. And they smell wonderful! You must have had them flown in from Faircrest, didn't you? Aaron, you're so thoughtful. You know I love Faircrest roses best, and you went to all that trouble just for me. I'm really touched..." As she spoke, she kept sneaking smug glances in Serena's direction.
Serena, however, didn't so much as flinch. She simply kept walking, one step at a time, toward the stuentrance.

He shook Cynthia's hand off, his tone curt. "Aren't you supposed to be filming? What are you still doing down here?" Cynthia, still clutching her phone, looked a little embarrassed. Noticing a few people watching, she forced a smile. "I'm going up now, Aaron. Since you're here, why don't you cup and watch? Filming a show is really fun." Aaron glanced up at the tall, glass-fronted building—at least a dozen stories high. After a moment's hesitation, he followed Cynthia inside.
It didn't take him long to spot Serena in the crowd, quietly reading her script.
Now that the show's popularity hinged on her, her treatment had improved considerably. This time, they'd brought in a top-notch makeup artist for her- though the makeup was so subtle, it was almost invisible. A few wisps of hair fell gently over her forehead, softening her features.
Aaron swallowed hard, his gaze settling on Serena. He found he couldn't look away.
In the past, he'd always believed that Serena would never survive without him. But now, seeing her like this, it was clear he'd been wrong. Without him, she seemed to shine even brighter.
Cynthia, standing nearby, caught the look in Aaron's eyes. It felt like someone had stuffed a rag into her chest. She regretted bringing Aaron upstairs.
But the director was already calling the guests to their places, so she had no choice but to head for the stage.

The lineup on stage was the sas before-Serena still stood at the end of the row. But today's competition rutes were different: it was head-to-head matchups. Losers would be eliminated; winners stayed in the game.
Because Cynthia had gotten her spot through connections, Abby-the producer- worried it would look bad if O she got knocked qux in the second episode. So, Abby suggested having Serena square off against Tobias first, and Rosa go up against Julian Sterling. Once those two rounds were over, the winners would face Cynthia Lynwood. In the end, this arrangement basically turned Cynthia into a background extra for the whole episode.
She wasn't happy about it, but with Aaron watching, she couldn't make a scene. All she could do was silently hope that Tobias would knock Serena out right away.
But dreams rarely matched reality.
Serena's skill was simply on another level. Tobias was soon out of his depth, sweat beading on his brow.
"Uh... I'll pass on this question."
"All right, next question!" the host said, his voice rising with excitement. "Serena, listen alosely-car you tell us, with precision, whether the painting in front of you is an original?"
