Chapter 45 Serena's voice was calm and indifferent. "Oh, be my guest.' With that, she walked over to the closet and took out a hairdryer.

Cynthia Lynwood watched her graceful movements, biting her lip hard. "You don't believe what I said, do you? Yes, Maggie said on TV that there was nothing betweenand Aaron. But that was just to keep you calm. After you disappeared yesterday, Aaron was afraid you might harm yourself, so he asked Maggie to say that." Serena couldn't care less about the nature of Aaron and Cynthia Lynwood's relationship.

Her voice remained steady and impassive. "Finished looking around? Can you leave now?" Cynthia Lynwood felt deflated as she stared at Serena's unresponsive face.

"Yes, I've finished," she said while wheeling herself towards the door. Suddenly, as if struck by a thought, she turned back, gazing at Serena's retreating figure. "Aaron says you've been together for four years but never been intimate. Is that true?" Serena nearly dropped the hairdryer from her hand.

Her fingers whitened from the pressure of her grip.

"Do you have a hobby of prying into your ex's privacy, Miss Lynwood?" Cynthia Lynwood smirked. "Not really. It's just that Aaron toldwhy he never touched you." Serena's fingers tightened further around the hairdryer.

"He said it's because you're filthy." Serena's mind exploded in chaos.

Every tshe dressed provocatively to entice Aaron, his impatient gaze was now like a needle stabbing at her heart.

So, Aaron avoided her simply because he thought she was dirty??? But how was she dirty? When she loved Aaron, she gave him everything.

Her seven years of youth were repaid with one word: filthy.

Ha ha ha...

Ha ha ha...

What a joke she was! "You can leave!" Serena said, her voice thick with suppressed emotion as she slowly turned to face Cynthia Lynwood, who was smiling smugly from her wheelchair.

Cynthia Lynwood said, "Serena, I have one more gift for you." With those words, she twisted her body and fell from the wheelchair.

The chair crashed loudly against the floor.

The noise immediately drew Matthew from the doorway.

"Serena, there's nothing between Aaron and me! You... you don't have to hateso much..." Matthew saw Cynthia Lynwood on the ground and felt an immediate pang of concern.

Seeing Serena standing there as if nothing happened only fueled his only fueled him anger. "Serena, are you even human? Cynthia is unwell, and you treat her like this?" Serena remained expressionless.

The next moment, Aaron rushed in, and her gaze turned icy with resentment. Her body trembled, but Aaron didn't notice.

His focus was solely on Cynthia Lynwood sprawled on the floor. "What happened?"

"Aaron, it's not Serena's fault. It's mine for saying the wrong thing," Cynthia Lynwood quickly interjected, not giving Serena a chance to speak. She whimpered softly, "It hurts, Aaron. Please, taketo the hospital." Aaron frowned, glancing at Serena, and for the first time, noticed the terrifying pallor of her face.

He looked at Cynthia Lynwood curled up on the floor, sighed, and picked her up, heading for the door.

The sound of footsteps faded downstairs, and Serena finally snapped back to reality. She collapsed onto the floor, like a puppet with its strings cut.

At the hospital, Matthew was tending to Cynthia Lynwood while muttering, om "Aaron, you really need to get a grip you realy on Serena. Cynthia meant well, and she pushed her like that. Who repays kindness with such cruelty?"
