Chapter 65 "I was on a business trip to Eastbridge when I heard about it. Apparently, your mom and Bella have already returned the antiques," Aaron remarked casually. Serena was skeptical of Aaron's claim.

She pulled out her phone and dialed Director Thomas.

On the other end, Director Thomas immediately recognized her voice and sounded genuinely pleased. "Serena! Finally, you returned my call. The antiques have been returned, and your mom personally brought them back. What's going on?" Serena was momentarily stunned, her gaze briefly flickering to Aaron's face before she quickly looked away as if jolted. "As long as they're back, Director. I'm outside right now. I'll call you once I'm home." "Alright, alright." Serena ended the call, still feeling bewildered.

Could it be... William put spressure on them? Yet...

Serena checked her phone again, confirming that the message she sent last night to William had gone unanswered.

"What are you looking at?" Aaron's deep, resonant voice suddenly broke the silence.

Startled, Serena swiftly put her phone away.

"Nothing." Noticing Serena's fleeting guilty expression, Aaron frowned irritably. "Let's head back." With the situation resolved, Serena no longer needed to return to Eastbridge.

She walked over to the car and got in.

The car turned back toward the estate.

When Serena stepped out of the car, Olivia was so shocked she nearly fainted.

The bodyguards, catching sight of Serena, seemed equally alarmed.

"Mr. Vance!" Everyone scrambled to attention.

Aaron's gaze swept over them, finally resting on Serena. "You should go upstairs." Serena stopped beside Aaron. "I left on my own. It had nothing to do with anyone else." With that, she headed upstairs.

Hidden in the crowd, Olivia shot Serena a curious glance as she passed by.

Serena, however, seemed oblivious to Olivia's subtle gesture, walking past without a backward glance. Watching her retreating figure, Aaron furrowed his brow, then turned to the others, his expression suddenly icy. "You can all leave." Relieved, the staff exhaled collectively and retreated.

Aaron glanced up at the second floor.

Serena was no longer in sight.

Yet, for the first time, his heart felt at ease.

The fact that Serena had managed to leave the estate indicated there was a traitor among them.

Her plea for the staff showed she was still the sperson-still kind.

Once upstairs, Serena sent a message to William.

[Thank you.] Five minutes later, William replied: [Thank you for what?] Serena: [For helpingretrieve the antiques.] William: [It wasn't me.] Serena froze.

It wasn't William who helped her get the antiques back? Then who...

Her gaze drifted downward.

But she quickly dismissed the idea.

It couldn't possibly be Aaron. He wouldn't go out of his way to m ve Eastbridge for her. Yet...

If not Aaron, then who else could it be? Serena pondered for a moment before deciding to go downstairs.

Downstairs, Aaron was on the phone, speaking in a soft, pleasant tone-one she knew he reserved only for Cynthia Lynwood.

Serena turned to leave, but Aaron's voice stopped her "Were you looking for me? Serena halted. "I just wanted to ask..." Her gaze paused.

On a nearby tray lay a good luck charm-a charm from St. Harmony Church.

Serena had once considered going to St. Harmony Church for a blessing.
