"But-" the assistant began.
"I don't have that kind of relationship with Mr. Ford. Accepting something this valuable would makefeel
guilty," Lydia insisted. "I can't take it."
The assistant hesitated, clearly

place. He even briefly considered
just leaving the box with her and walking away, knowing that if he didn't deliver it as instructed, he would be
facing Eugene's wrath later.
