Chapter 312 She had decided to cthere for treatment, indicating that deep down in her heart, she still cherished the memories of the past.
If they revisited those old memories, perhaps she'd be moved. Then, maybe they still had a chance to restore their former relationship.
"I'm not going." Vespera brushed past him and headed straight for the car. Luke stepped over and leaned against the door. Rather than brute force, there was a pleading hint in his expression.
"Vespera, I was wrong this morning. I shouldn't have spoken those hurtful words to you. I admit I was acting out of jealousy and narrow-mindedness. I promise I won't pressure you to likeanymore.

Had he ever kept track of how often he vowed to leave her alone? Vespera felt as though she were stuck in a cheesy soap opera with endless retakes, and the script might as well have been titled "The Perpetually Tardy Fool".
It was utterly absurd. But this "dog" was more like a Tibetan Mastiff. If it had been a small, yappy dog like a Teddy, she would have simply leashed it and choked it without hesitation.
She glanced at her foot before turning her attention to Luke.
After a brief moment of thought, she said, "I can't walk. Let's go in separately. Just do a quick loop and cback out. If you try to forcelike last time, I'll scream for help immediately.
"I'll drop to the ground and cry, telling everyone you're trying to harm me. I'll attract attention from passersby and the police. Even if it's super embarrassing, we'll both end up looking foolish." Luke realized she was negotiating with him. First, she pretended to be weak and gave in a little. Then, she threatened to drag him down with her. She was betting on his concern for his reputation, hoping he would relent once he had accomplished something.
"Alright, we can drive in for a loop. But you have to ride in my car," Luke said.
"No way," Vespera replied, shaking her head decisively.
Luke gave in a bit more. "Then I'll ride in your car. We'll do a lap, and you can dropoff right here. I promise I'll leave as soon as we're out." Vespera suggested, "How about this? Let's bring another person along. It'll be more fun with a bigger group." Luke insisted, "I just want to be with you-just the two of us." Vespera countered, "But I prefer it with three. If you agree, we'll go. Otherwise, step aside." Luke cup with a new idea. "Let's play rock-paper-scissors. The winner decides. If you still refuse, I'll just cover your mouth and carry you to my car. You won't have a chance to yell." Vespera clenched her fists, pausing for a moment before speaking, "Alright, whoever wins gets to have their way." The two of them stood by the roadside. Luke leaned casually against something, while Vesperat stood nearby. From afar, they appeared to be engaged in conversation. Eventually, they began playing rock-paper-scissors...
At first glance, they presented a harmonious image of a charming man and nd a beautiful woman. Meanwhite, a black car had already pulled over. Inside, the atmosphere was so frigid it felt like it might freeze.
Dominic watched the two chatting happily outside, his eyes filled with a cold, dark mist. Gerard barely dared to breathe. It was all over. The tension had been palpable since they arrived.

Seeing Vespera with her ex-husband at the osteopathy clinic it wasn't just jealousy that arose, it was a whirlwind of intense emotions.
He forced himself to offer sreassurance. "Mr. Munoz, perhaps O. Vespera is accustomed to feaning on Mr. Munoz. Considering you've shared a hfor so many years, it's only natural that..." A bang interrupted him as the car door closed from the back seat. Dominic exited the vehicle. Vespera brandished scissors, while Luke held up a cloth.
With a smile, she declared, "I won." Luke's expression darkened slightly. "...Who can you invite here?" Vespera was about to mention John, thinking she could compensate him for the inconvenience.
A familiar voice said, "Invite me."
Vespera turned to see Dominic standing just under a mile awaym beside the newly illuminated rotating lights of the barbershop. His tall, striking figure and attractive all ne chilling demeanor made him resemble a grand iceberg, standing out distinctly in the warm, dim evening glow.
