Chapter 182
CHAPTER 189: THE FREEDOM TO FLY
April was amazed by the fairy kingdom, wherever she saw beauty, Maya and the others insisted that this place
was dangerous, but no matter how much April looked, she couldn't understand why. While she was caressing the
fur of her winged horse, Maya approached her and said.
_I'll teach you to ride it, it’s not that difficult, you'll see.
Ethan jumped again.
_That’s dangerous, I'll go with her.
That's not possible, she can only ride one at a time.
But...
_ Calm down, she'll be fine.
Dantriel put his hand on Ethan's shoulder and said.
_Calm down, don't exaggerate things.

Maya taught April the correct way to ride the winged horse and how to hold on when it took flight. Cassian had
heard Maya's explanation so he did the same. They all mounted their winged horses, Ethan was the only one
left.
Are you planning to walk the rest of the way?
Ethan didn’t answer. Maya thought. Why is he so stubborn?
_Hey lettell you that there is a long way to the land of fairies, at a brisk pace it will take you half a day and
that’s even if you don't get lost, so why don’t you stop being so stubborn and ride one of these horses.
| don’t like being in the air depending on a fierce and wild animal that could letfall at any moment.
- Are you afraid of heights? E| didn’t say that.
Then stop complaining and get on one of those horses before they leave, they won't be in this meadow all day
and we won't wait for you to decide to ride one of those horses either.
Ethan seemed reluctant to ride one of the horses, April told him while caressing her horse's back.
_l don’t think these horses are as dangerous as you think, why don’t you try to get close to them?
Okay, I'll try.
Ethan answered, although he still didn’t seem very convinced to do it, April wondered if there was any other
reason why he refused to ride one of those horses. Ethan pulled a branch from one of the bushes and brought it
close to one of the horses. Several of the horses moved away from him, but one cclose, a brown horse. He
began to eat from his hand; Ethan stayed very still. April told him.
_Try to touch it._
Ethan caressed the horse’s nose and to his surprise it let him. He looked at April, she told him with a sweet
smile.
_You see, they're not as fierce as you thought. That one seems to like you, I'm sure he’ll let you ride it._
Ethan stared at her beautiful smile and for a moment it was as if he was seeing Sophia, her smile, expressions
and her physique were almost identical, that’s why he used to confuse them, but he knew that that was not his
beloved Sophia but his daughter. He had been repeating it over and over again, but still he couldn’t stop his
heart from racing every the saw her, every the heard her voice and saw her smile.
Ethan got on the horse, everyone managed to rise to the sky and it was at that precise moment that Ethan
recorded the real reason why he had refused to ride those winged horses. He hated heights, he felt as if his
stomach suddenly dropped and rose again.
Damn it, why I let myself be convinced to do this crazy thing...
The higher that horse went, the more afraid Ethan felt, he clung tightly to the horse’s neck and closed his eyes
wishing to return to solid ground. He opened his eyes for a moment to see how April was doing. He was terrified
and felt like his heart was going to jump out of his mouth, but for April it was the opposite.

She seemed to be enjoying the flight on the back of her horse.
As she soared through the skies, for the first tin her life, April felt what true freedom was. She loved the
feeling of freedom, that lack of limits, of barriers, that fierce joy she felt while flying. The wind blowing back her
reddish hair and caressing her cheeks, she wished she could stay that way forever.
She liked seeing every detail of the landscape, how great it was to see everything from above, to see the world
from another perspective, to forget everything she had lived until then, the pain, the problems, the suffering and
to live in the moment. She was intoxicated by these new sensations that were emerging inside her, she was
intoxicated by the feeling of freedom that being able to fly gave her.
| wish | could stay this way forever.
She thought as she stretched out her arms feeling the air that enveloped her arms, the roar of the wind and the
soft rays of the sun that warmed her, she was so absorbed in all that that she didn’t hear Maya's screams that
said.
_April, don’t do that, you could fall, hold on.
It wasn’t until after several screams that she heard them and held on to the horse correctly, for a moment she
had made the others have a bad time, they were scared that she was going to fall, but even if it was selfish, she
didn’t care, she actually longed to do it again, but she didn’t want to make the others go crazy so she limited
herself to looking at the landscape, the mountains, the valleys, the trees full of color and the flowers that
adorned them, the meadows covered by grass that seemed soft and pleasant like a carpet, that beautiful
landscape that fell in love and enchanted her heart.
