Chapter 209
Her sharp words and mocking tone almost made Catlin pass out from anger.
“Just admit it, did you cause the trouble the Hart family’s in now?”
Catlin was done. She couldn't take another word.
Stephanie’s mouth was truly capable of driving anyone mad-no wonder she was raised in a small town, where
people had sharp tongues.
Stephanie’s voice was icy. “You guess.”
“You're...”
“We're no longer connected. Stop callingout of the blue. If I didn’t know better, I'd think you miss me.”
Before Catlin could retort, the call ended.
It always went the sway. Every tshe tried reaching out to Stephanie, she ended up with nothing but
frustration.
Who taught her to talk like that? It was infuriating!
At the studio.
When Sebastian Giovanni walked in, he saw Stephanie limping toward the elevator.
In a few quick steps, he reached her, sweeping her up in his arms.
The whole office watched in awe, thinking, “They really look sweet together.”
Stephanie clung to his neck. “What are you doing? Putdown, | can walk on my own.”
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtThe weather in the city had been bad lately, and life had been pretty tough for Stephanie.
Sebastian simply scooped her up and carried her straight to the elevator.
In the office.
One of the junior designers whispered to Jennifer, “Boss’s brother is so handsome! That cold vibe... Wow, he's
perfect!”
Jennifer rolled her eyes. “Stop fantasizing.”
“Can’t | dream a little?”
Jennifer shot her a warning look. “Watch out, the boss might hear you!”
Sebastian carefully placed Stephanie into the car and draped a blanket over her legs.
Even though the car's temperature was comfortable, the change in weather still made her feel miserable.
“Why didn’t you say anything about the pain?” Sebastian asked.
Stephanie sighed. “I'm used to it by now.”
Sebastian paused for a moment as he adjusted the blanket, his eyes flickering with something unreadable.

He didn’t say anything, just asked, “Have you been keeping up with physiotherapy?”
At the mention of it, Stephanie looked away, avoiding his gaze.
Sebastian raised an eyebrow. “You haven't, have you?”
She mumbled, “Well... I'm afraid of the pain.”
Although massage therapy wasn’t that unbearable, she had a serious fear of all sorts of electrotherapy
machines.
Just the thought of them made her panic.
This fear made the winters in the city especially hard for her over the past two years.
Sebastian turned to the driver. “Tell Macro to bring it up.”
Stephanie’s heart skipped a beat.
Els,
“Be good.”
Sebastian's soothing voice instantly calmed her down.
She really did have a fear of those machines-any kind of them when moving on her body.
It all traced back to the tshe was kidnapped, when one of the women in the group had a sick fascination with
playing with machines.
Elliot made a call to Macro, then received another one.
Turning to Sebastian, he said, “Mr. Hodge is already on his way to Mount Spring.”
The contract was supposed to be signed today, but the trip to Mount Spring was a last-minute decision by
Sebastian.
Naturally, Mr. Hodge couldn’t protest and had to adjust to Sebastian's schedule.
Sebastian nodded. “You and Ethan go ahead.”
“Got it,” Elliot replied with a nod.
By the tthey reached Mount Spring, it was nearly noon.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmAs they got out of the car, Sebastian moved to pick up Stephanie, but she quickly grabbed his hand. “I can
walk.”
Sebastian raised an eyebrow. “Hmm? You're all grown up now, not lettingcarry you?”
Stephanie rolled her eyes.
‘So he noticed?”
Well, it wasn’t appropriate for him to carry her now that she was grown.
Seeing her stunned expression, Sebastian chuckled, and before she could protest, he swept her off her feet and
strode confidently toward the wooden building.
