Chapter 1221 Lennon Onder
Cherise's lips pressed together when she heard Maeve's name.
She admitted that she had a very poor impression of Maeve at first. The woman had robbed Mandy of nearly twenty years of her
life and left Mandy's face permanently marked. She had even attacked Cherise's biological mother at Cherise and Damien's
wedding.
However, tcontinued to run, and five years had gone by. Faced with apletely remorseful Maeve, Cherise found it hard to
hold onto her hatred. Moreover, Maeve had been genuinely good to Ren and Sera, making Cherise see Maeve as a true family
member.
Now, though, things had taken a bad turn.

Cherise sighed. "Maeve is... Even once she wakes up, the situation won't be good. You need to be prepared mentally."
Maeve's illness concerned her heart. Such a condition couldn't handle anger, stress, or intense emotions. Not even the best doctors
could save her if her emotions got out of control.
Sadly, when she woke up, she would still have to deal with the betrayal of her husband of many years.
Charles was so significant to Maeve that she had once asserted that Damien aside, Charles was her everything. To her mind,
without him and his support, she would have died long ago, with no desire to keep living.
Now, her support system had collapsed. Charles had betrayed her. It was akin to Maeve losing a big chunk of her will to live.
Maeve's prospects were... dire.
Damien admitted, "I know."
"But right now, | can't do anything to Charles. We must wait for Maeve to fully recover before making any decisions."
Cherise nodded pensively. "l see."
Since there was nothing else to discuss about Maeve, Cherise turned to Damien's sea expedition.
"Did you see any starfish?"
"Meet any dolphins?"
"Get chased by great white sharks?"
Damien looked at her with a smile. "We were on official business, not a vacation."

"Oh," Cherise pouted, the corners of her lips curling down. "How did your business go?"
Damien quipped. "We witnessed a miracle."
Cherise, puzzled, continued eating her fish. "What kind of miracle?"
"A miracle of life."
While it wasmon knowledge that Damien sailed for business purposes, only Colin and Otto knew the small details that
concerned the life of a person.
He had traveled to a remote, primitive island far from Adania, where he had used a lot of fish and meat to buy back a slave.

When faced with such a person, neither Damien nor Colin could blhim or ask him to leave.
