"The last few times I've visited, you've been asleep. Let's take a look and see what's going on. I'm going to touch you now, alright?" Even from there, he could hear her sobs echoing down the hall. He sighed, relieved that the situation hadn't spiraled out of control. Once she was finished, he tucked her in and went to rest. Being there was incredibly exhausting for him.
