The intricate beading and pearls, meant to symbolize well-wishes, made it nearly impossible to take off by herself. In frustration, she resorted to scissors, cutting parts of the fabric. Afterward, she took a shower to wash off her ruined makeup. Freshly cleaned, she dressed in casual clothes, not expecting Maximus to still be at home.
She went in search of a vase to place her bridal bouquet in water. But as she entered the living room, she was startled to see Maximus stepping out of his room, Iressed in an elegant black suit. He gave her a cold, appraising look before speaking.
"I assbreakfast is ready?" Maximus said, his tone a mix of sarcasm and authority.
"Well... Emma should... she should have prepared it," Mary stammered, caught off guard by his question. 'Emma's on vacation," he snapped. "You should have made my breakfast. Or what?
