Chapter 479 | Am Pursuing You
"What were you callingfor?" Zephyr looked at her with an innocent expression.
""It's summer now."
The season of passion has already passed.
"I was merely recalling the day | bumped into your mother while tutoring you. Where did your mind wander off
to?" Zephyr raised an eyebrow.
Sophia paused for a moment.
There was this one time, during a tutoring session at her place, when Zephyr did indeed run into her mother.
However, that was a matter of the second semester.
Zephyr had certainly brought up the events of the first semester to throw her off.
If she were to point out his mistake, she would fall right into his trap. It would seem as though she was still hung
up on their past, constantly dwelling on what happened between him and her.
"Isn't it summer now? Where has your mind wandered off to?" She turned the tables on him in defiance.
After she had finished speaking, she turned around and continued walking forward. "Enough talk. Let's move on
to the next stall quickly."
They were out and about until ten o'clock, after which the two of them returned to the hotel together.
Sophia decided to take a taxi home; she didn't need Zephyr to escort her.
Zephyr said outright, "I'm staying at the shotel as you."
Sophia was rendered speechless, as this wasn't the first tit happened.
The last time, Lenora had snapped a photo of Zephyr in Fairlake, asking her if Zephyr had reached out to her.
Her answer was particularly cryptic-not in the past few days.
However, that was because Zephyr had returned to Fairlake during that period.
Before that, during her off-work hours, Zephyr would often seek her out. Whether he was on a business trip or in
Jacaster, he seemed to always know where she was. "Zephyr, what on earth are you trying to do?"
"Isn't it obvious? I'm pursuing you. | want to reconcile with you, Sophia."
Sophia lowered her gaze, about to speak when Zephyr preempted her, "Don't be in a rush to refuse, okay?
Sophia, | understand the predicament you're in. Your beloved father has another family outside. You're
reluctantly meeting with suitors, yet you're not willing to just marry off and leave your inheritance to strangers.
But you don't know how to run a company, and you don't have any leverage to sway your father to take your

Sophia had expected Zephyr to deliver a long-winded speech to profess his love. However, she was surprised by
what he actually said.
She asked curiously, "How are you going to do that?"
"| can join Tortell Fashion in your stead and win the management and shareholders over. With my abilities, | can
hinder the progress of your illegitimate brother once he graduates and joins the company. When he fails to make
any headway, this will leave your father with no choice but to hand the company over to you."
Sophia had faith in Zephyr's capabilities. "But, if you've won over the other shareholders, why would my father
hand the company over to me?" she asked.
"That's why there's something we need to do first-we need to get married. After marriage, we beca single
entity. Whatever's mine will be yours." Sophia broke into a smirk. "What a great plan you have there."
"Sophia, we can enter into a contract marriage. | hope you'll seriously consider this. We'll decide the terms
together and during our contract marriage, | promise not to break any of the agreed-upon rules. Do you really
want to see your illegitimate younger brother inherit everything from your father?" "Even then, | don't
necessarily need your help."
"Yet, can you find anyone more capable or trustworthy than me?" Zephyr stared at Sophia with an intense gaze.
Sophia opened her mouth slightly but couldn't deny the merit of his words.
She was considering finding someone else to rely on. Putting aside the uncertainty of the plan, even if she truly
took control of the company, there was no guarantee that the person she found would not cast her aside and
seize the company on his own. The srisk applied to Zephyr, but it was minimal.
Firstly, Sophia understood him and knew he wasn't that kind of person.
Secondly, Zephyr was highly regarded by Matthew, so he had plenty of opportunities to acquire wealth.
Compared to those, taking it from the Tortell family would be too time-consuming and strenuous.
At that moment, the car drove into the hotel's underground parking lot.
Zephyr turned off the engine, and the two of them got out of the car to take the elevator.
"Sophia, | hope you'll give it sserious thought," Zephyr said before entering the room.
It was a Saturday afternoon at Jacaster, Isla headed to the Galaxy Bay to pick Harrietta up for lunch.
She smiled at Harrietta and said, "I
wanted to pick you up from
kindergarten yesterday, but then | remembered what you said last time, so | ctoday instead. How |
about spend the afternoon with you today. Would you like that?"
Harrietta tilted her head in thought. "I have homework to do this afternoon, so a lunch would suffice."
"Alright, is there anything you'd like to eat?"
"Let's go to a restaurant where lamb is the specialty," Harrietta said with a serious expression. "Uncle Zachary
mentioned that he was going to have lunch withtoday. | wonder if he'll show up."
A glimmer of surprise flashed in Isla's eyes. "Really?"
"That was what he said. Besides, Ms. Isla, aren't you invitingout because you wanted to spend twith me?
Why are you so eager for Uncle Zachary to join us?" Harrietta asked with an innocent look on her face.
"I... I have something to discuss with your father. | also hope that we could all have a meal together as a family."
Isla found an excuse immediately.
This young lady is quite perceptive.
"Okay."
"I will find a lamb specialty restaurant right away. Once we get there, you can call your dad."
"Mmm-hmm."
Seeing Harrietta agree outright, Isla broke into a slight smile.
She might be smart, but at the end of the day, she is still a child who enjoys food and play. Sooner or later, I'll
win her over.
On the road, Isla casually mentioned, "Actually, | thought you were at the Fuller residence. When | went there,
your grandmother toldyour dad had brought you here. When did you arrive?" "Two days ago."
"Besides you and your dad, is there anyone else there?"
Harrietta knew that Isla was referring to Lenora.
"Miranda is there too."
"Why did your dad suddenly bring you back?"
"Because after you went to school that day, everyone started callingan illegitimate daughter. It was so
distressing that after school, | ran off to Aunt Lenora's place..."
A pang of anxiety gripped Isla's heart. "And then?"
When she appeared completely
unbothered by the gossip about
Harrietta and more concerned about what happened afterward, Harrietta recounted with a pout, "Then Aunt
Lenora called Uncle Zachary to pickup, insisting on not sendingback to the Fuller residence. But for

back with him."
Elia felt a surge of joy. "Why didn't she want to go back with your dad?"
"Probably because she dislikes me," Harrietta added with a pout.
"She's already divorced from your father, so stop calling her Aunt Lenora. From now on, don't go looking for her if
something like this happens again. What if she ends up harming you?" "Aunt Lenora isn't that kind of person."
"She can't stand you, how can you
not realize that? One can never judge a book by its cover. She might seem gentle in front of you, but she
can be quite vicious. She de
you simply because you're our daughter. She smashed my car and even hit me. Back in Fairlake, she was caught
stealing and got fired from her job. You're still young and naive. You need to listen to adults. mother. | would

you!"
"Okay," Harrietta responded, rolling her eyes discreetly.
She really thinks I'm just a three or four-year-old child. I'm already five!
Once they arrived at the restaurant and ordered their meals, Harrietta used her phone-watch to dial Zachary's
number. "Hello, Uncle Zachary?"
"Hattie, what's the matter?"
"Ms. Isla has pickedup for lunch, would you like to join us? Remember, you promised to have lunch with me."
Zachary paused for a moment. "Where are you guys?"
Listening to the voice on speakerphone, Isla broke into a smile as she mentioned the nof the restaurant.
"Alright, I'm on my way."
