Chapter 814 Nadine was about to call Brad every curse under the sun when pain shot through her lips. Before she could even react, his lips crashed against hers.
It was more of a bite than a kiss. His movements were forceful and chaotic, his lips pressing against hers with no semblance of tenderness. Pain seared through her as he bit down, leaving her lips stinging.
He had made up his mind-to punish this woman who didn't think before she spoke. If she dared to bring up marriage with someone else again, he'd bite her until she stopped.

If you ever mention that you're going to marry someone else again, I'll kiss you, and I won't stop until you can't get the words out anymore!" He was about to lose his mind over this woman. He couldn't hit her or even yell at her. The moment he was a little kind to her, she took advantage of it. But if he wasn't kind to her, she acted like she'd been wronged.
How could a creature as maddening as this woman even exist? He remembered a talk-show interview he'd once watched where a reporter asked a famous actor, "Could you give sadvice to young, unmarried men on dating?" Without hesitation, the actor responded, "Don't date!" At the time, Brad thought the question was pointless, and the actor's answer was silly. But now, he realized that love could truly drive a person crazy.
Take his situation with Nadine, for example. To him, their divorce was nothing more than a formality. It didn't change a thing. Speople acted exactly the safter marriage as they did when they were dating. He was one of those people.
However, Nadine was different.
Every the sought her out, she'd give him that cold look and keep reminding him that they were divorced. So what if they were divorced? In his mind, they hadn't truly separated.
And if he didn't acknowledge it, then it wasn't real! He didn't need her to constantly remind him of their divorce. All the frustration from their past-and the present-bubbled to the surface.
Brad deepened the kiss as he thought about how many times Nadine had shut him out recently. He bit her lip and gripped her shoulder, pressing down hard on her collarbone.
Nadine, already skin and bones to begin with, felt the sharp pain radiating from his grip and couldn't help but cry out. Her momentary gasp gave Brad the opening needed to force his tongue into her mouth.

If she could overpower him, she'd have throttled him.
Brad eventually pulled away, feeling satisfied with his punishment. As their lips parted a thin, glistening strand of saliva lingered between them. His breath was ragged, his chest heaving, and the sound of his labored breaths filled the room.
"Nadine," he rasped, his voice rough. "This is your punishment. If you do this again, I'll kiss you even harder!"
Damn it. Why did her lips have to be so intoxicatingly sweet? If she hadn't struggled so much, he wouldn't have been able to stop.
The taste of her lips and the faint fragrance of her skin almost made him lose control. But he was painfully aware that if he forced himself on her that day, he would lose her forever.
