Chapter 249 Finding Someone The designer, who went by the nRosalind, was shrouded in mystery. The phone number listed on her competition profile was unreachable, and the address didn't exist.
Tracking Rosalind down quickly was proving to be an impossible task.
After hanging up the phone, Eric asked casually, "Need my help?" I looked up and met his bright, eager gaze and hesitated for a moment.
Eric chuckled as if he thought I was doubting his abilities. "What's this? You don't trust me? My connections aren't just for show, you know." His confidence was so infectious that I couldn't help but laugh. Nodding, I shared everything I knew about Rosalind with him.
I could only hope he found something soon. Knowing Elsa, if she won an award in the competition, she'd use it to pressure our parents into letting her join the company.

Calling it a "hospital" was generous. It was more like an oversized clinic that was cramped and cluttered. Eric ledthrough the dimly lit hallway and stopped near the end.
A single hospital bed sat in the corner. On it lay a frail-looking middle-aged man, his face gaunt and sunken. Beside him, a young woman rested her head against the bed, and her petite frcurled up in exhaustion. She looked barely past 20. She was painfully thin and clearly malnourished.
Eric leaned in and murmured near my ear, "That woman over there is Rosalind. Her real nis Liliana Bellamy. The man in the bed is her father, George. He's been battling leukemia for a year now. Her mother passed away a long tago, so she's the only one supporting the family. She juggles multiple jobs just to scrape together enough for his medical bills." I took in Liliana's frail figure, and a pang of sympathy made my chest tighten. "She must've entered the design competition for the prize money." The annual interior design competition awarded generous cash prizes to the top three winners. That had to be her reason for signing up.
I turned to Eric. "Do you know why she dropped out of the competition?" He shook his head. "That part's a bit harder to dig into. We didn't find anything concrete. You'll probably have to ask her yourself." I nodded, took a deep breath, and carefully walked forward.
Liliana was fast asleep. Even withstanding right beside her, she didn't stir. She must've been completely exhausted, and this was probably the only place where she could truly rest.
"Is something the matter?" A weak voice startled me.
I turned to see that George hadn't been sleeping after all. He had been watching silently but hadn't woken his daughter since I didn't seem like a threat.
Even so, Liliana woke up on her own.
When she saw me, she froze for a second. Then, as clarity returned to her eyes, her expression hardened-full of wariness.
I kept my explanation brief, cutting straight to the point. I wanted to know if Elsa had offered her skind of deal.
Liliana's face twisted into a scowl at the mention of that name. She instinctively moved before George, shielding him, her whole body tense with rejection.

"I don't know anyone named Elsa! And I have no idea what you're talking about. Plagiarism? What' plagiarism? My father needs rest. Leave-now. You're not welchere." She glared at me, and her hostility was clear. But I didn't get angry.
I knew Elsa must have told her something before this. Otherwise, she wouldn't react so strongly to just hearing her name.
My gaze flickered between Liliana and George, taking in the situation.
She orderedto leave again, her tone sharp and unyielding.
Only then did I finally speak, slowly and deliberately. "Do you wantyour father to have a real chance at better En. treatment?" Liliana froze.
Her eyes flickered toward George, who was still lying weakly in bed. He was unable to even sit up on his own.
After a long pause, she asked, "What exactly do you want?"
