Chapter 292 Make It Public Eric disregarded Elsa's flustered expression. He usheredinto the car after saying his piece. After we got inside, he didn't chat withas usual but had his head lowered, seemingly lost in thought.

I cautiously glanced at him and asked, "What's the matter?" Eric pursed his lips, remaining silent.

I could only shrug and remain seated beside him in silence.

Eric eventually snapped out of his reverie. He turned towith a serious expression and said, "I think it's tfor us to make it public. It's tfor us to announce our marriage to the world." I stared at him in a daze, my thoughts momentarily suspended. I suddenly recalled what Elsa had said earlier and explained, "You ought to know that Elsa's just trying to drive a wedge between us, Eric. You shouldn't let it get to you." We had decided to keep their marriage a secret, after all. There was just too much going on, and going public with our marriage would inevitably draw the predatory gaze of unscrupulous media outlets. In the worst-case scenario, it would even affect Brown Group and Flint Group.

Therefore, we initially agreed to keep it a secret for the tbeing and only planned to announce it when the right opportunity came. I just didn't expect Elsa's words today to stir such a strong reaction in Eric.

Eric was unfazed by my explanation. He maintained a serious expression as he explained, "It has nothing to do with Elsa. You and Jeremiah have been divorced for quite stnow, and both Brown Group and Flint Group have grown stronger since then. It's in both our interests to publicize our marriage now, wouldn't you agree?" Eric's question really gotthinking. It seemed that, in accordance with Eric's line of thought, announcing it to the public would be the better choice for both of our families.

Upon noticing my silence, Eric hesitated briefly before continuing, "And besides, making it public would actually make things more convenient for us." I had to admit that Eric was right. His voice, possessing an almost enchanting quality, compelledto nod instinctively. I finally cback to my senses and was met with Eric's triumphant countenance. I thought I even caught him letting out a small sigh of relief.

"I'm not sure if we should just announce it like that, though. It might seem a bit out of the blue," I said hesitantly. Eric grinned, stating, "It's going to be Flint Group's anniversary soon. That would be the most opportune moment for our announcement." I nodded and said, "I guess that works too. It'll just add to the celebration." Having said that, I turned my gaze toward Eric. Upon noticing the barely suppressed smile on his face, I asked, "You totally planned this from the start, didn't you?" Eric didn't even refute it. He simply nodded and said, "Yeah, I've been contemplating how to broach the subject with you. And since Elsa brought it up today, I simply took the opportunity and went along with it." He was indeed a sly fox, constantly plotting and scheming.

Eric immediately caught my displeased expression. He reached out, lightly tapped my forehead with his finger, and asked with a teasing smile, "You were secretly cursingout in your head, weren't you?" I laughed nervously and quickly denied it, saying, "Of course not! You're reading too much into it!" It was unsettling how he actually knew what I was thinking. I discreetly wiped away my sweat and mustered a sheepish smile.

Eric hummed softly, saying, "Very well, then." He then paused for a moment before adding, "I'd like you to doa favor before the anniversary banquet."

"What kind of favor?" I asked, noticing a trace of mischief in his expression. "I'll make it happen as long as you say it."

In response to my affirmation, Eric smiled faintly and replied, "Ineed you e to accompanyto Flint Manor."

It was then that I suddenly realized that after Eric and I had gotten our marriage certificate despite him often accompanyingto see my parents, I had never visited his home. I hadn't even met a single member of his family.
