Chapter 77
We arrived at a farmhouse. Unlike typical farmhouses, this one provided
strawberry and cherry picking services, along with amusement facilities, and even a hill to hike.
The two couples were having a lot of fun. | wanted to stay at the farmhouse and wait for them, but Matthew
insisted on draggingalong.
So, | ended up becoming their errand boy, handling their bags and taking photos for them.
Even Matthew, that punk, got so carried away that he started bossingaround, even makinglie on the
ground to get the perfect angle for pictures of him and Isabelle.
| playfully threatened him, "You're really ditching your friend for a girl, huh? I'm letting it slide for now, but just
wait till we get back—I'll deal with you then!"

Matthew just scratched his head and laughed. "It's not every day | get to be out with Isabelle. You know me. I'm
not exactly rich. If | don't keep her happy, what if she leaves me?"
But couldn't he just find another girlfriend if she ditches him? He didn't have to stick around with gold diggers
like Isabelle.
Of course, | couldn't say these thoughts out loud. After all, they were a couple, while | was just a roommate they
had only known for a short while. It wasn't my place to comment on their relationship. So, I'd just have to put up
with it.
Luckily, the girls were wearing heels, so they couldn't hike. Otherwise, | would've had to accompany them, and it
would have been exhausting.
As the sun began to set, we finally sat down at the dinner table. Honestly, the meals served at the farmhouse
were pretty good. Compared to the extravagant dishes served in hotels, | preferred meals like this—simple and
authentic.
By the twe finished dinner, it was already dark out. Lucas immediately suggested, "I know a nice hotel
nearby. How about we don't go back to campus tonight and stay there instead?
Everyone's expressions shifted upon hearing his suggestion. | couldn't help but smirk.
They had just announced their relationship today, and he already planned to stay at a hotel the snight. It
felt like he was treating Charlotte and the rest of us like fools.
His intentions were so obvious. There was no way we couldn't see it.
Isabelle smiled awkwardly. "Uh... maybe not? We all have classes tomorrow, and we're pretty far from campus
now. I'm worried we won't make it back in tfor class."
Matthew added, "Exactly. Plus, staying at a hotel is expensive. It'd be unfair for William to sleep alone and pay
more."
Lucas said toin a surprisingly friendly manner, "Don't worry. Like | said earlier, I'll cover the expenses for
everyone today. I'll take care of the hotel costs."

At this point, Matthew and Isabelle didn't know to refuse anymore, so they looked tofor help.
| was about to say something when Charlotte interrupted. "Okay then! We'll stay at the hotel!"
| was stunned. She actually said yes? Did she know what it meant to stay overnight at a hotel?
We were all university students now, so there was no way she didn't know. Judging by how determined she
looked, it seemed like she was ready to sleep with Lucas.
| immediately glanced at Matthew and Isabelle.
Didn't they say Charlotte didn't want to be with Lucas? But today, she looked so affectionate and happy with
him. Now, she was even willing to go to a hotel with him. It didn't look like she was unwilling to be with him.
Matthew and Isabelle looked at each other, confused.
Soon, we arrived at the hotel Lucas mentioned earlier. He eagerly asked for three
rooms at the reception and headed upstairs with Charlotte.
Matthew sighed. "Looks like Charlotte's not getting away tonight."
