Chapter 161 Once Tiffany was done speaking, everyone at the scene looked toward Lucas with surprise and delight.

If he agreed, wouldn't it be an extraordinary honor for everyone present today? Even Evelyn couldn't help but glance over in astonishment.

She looked at Lucas' composed profile and gradually felt that he was a stranger.

After all these years of marriage, she was unaware he had such a skill.

He had never been open and honest with her.

Even Justine grew serious, sitting up straighter. She asked somewhat hesitantly, "Lucas wouldn't really agree, would he? Wouldn't that be helping Tiffany one-up you?" Evelyn gently pressed her lips together, watching them.

Tiffany turned around, her eyes soft as she looked at the man before her.

Reaching a hand out to him, she elaborated, "If more schools for the children can be donated in my name, then I hope my nwill stand side by side with yours, sharing that honor. Lucas, will you play the piano with me?" Those words were no less than a confession. They were so moving.

The women all looked on with envy. Meanwhile, syounger girls even gripped each other's hands in excitement, expressions excited as they shipped the couple. Evelyn, however, felt like an outsider as she watched this grand celebration of her husband and his lover.

Justine's hand trembled as she held her glass, her face flushed with anger. "Tiffany's being way too arrogant, isn't she?" Tiffany clearly knew Evelyn, the legitimate wife, was still present. However, she was still openly showing affection with Lucas without the slightest hint of guilt. Why? It was because Lucas allowed it.

"If Lucas actually agrees... I... I..." Just thinking about it made Justine's chest tighten painfully.

"It's okay." Evelyn was calm, but when she said that, he put down his cup and looked at Tiffany's outstretched hand.

He didn't take her hand directly. Instead, he stood up and bent his arm chivalrously. He then said, "Of course." Tiffany didn't mind the detail. Her fingers curled slightly, and she rested her hand in the crook of Lucas' arm. Her smile grew even more prominent because Lucas agreed to duet with her.

Seeing this outcome, Evelyn slowly lowered her gaze, looking at the half-finished glass of kiwi juice on the table. It clearly should have tasted sweet, but she never managed to taste it. All she tasted was bitterness. Blake chuckled freely and clapped his hands.

"A piano duet truly makes for a better effect. I'm sure everyone is more eager to see Mr. Grant perform for us what a treat for everyone today."

Jessica, however, glanced awkwardly at the quietly seated Evelyn and sighed. "With Mr. Grant helping Ms. Moore, the entertainment value is indeed different. Evie, please don't take it to heart."

Clearly, if this had only been a contest with Evelyn and Tiffany facing off each other, then no one would have dared say anything biased. But now, Lucas had accepted Tiffany's invitation to play a piano duet. Evelyn, naturally, couldn't compare to Tiffany and had no grounds to continue competing. After all, Evelyn didn't have anyone to do a duet with.

Her eyes were frosty as she replied flatly, "It doesn't matter. With Mr. Grant joining in, I have nothing to say." She did not insist on performing and gave up the opportunity. She also didn't intend to perform anything else, either, because the outcwas clear.

For the sake of Lucas' dignity, he was bound to win, with Tiffany becoming tonight's brightest star.

Evelyn was unsure if she was mistaken, but she could feel m someone staring at her she looked up and realized that Lucas was staring at her, his emotions unreadable. He merely stared at her for two seconds before looking away. With a tilt of his head, he ascended the stage with Tiffany.
