Chapter 30 Isn't Mr. Cooper Happy? The next day, Tiffany showed up at the Vertex Holdings Group building. She never thought she'd be back here after five years, and it hit her right in the feels.
Back when she and Leon had just tied the knot, Tiffany had promised herself she'd be the perfect wife. So, she got Leon's company address from Jujia and decided to surprise him with lunch.
She arrived all excited, but didn't dare to spill the beans about her and Leon. The receptionist thought she was just another woman chasing after Leon and wouldn't let her in.
Leon and Tiffany had agreed to keep their marriage on the down-low, so she had to play along. Feeling a bit awkward, she stood outside with the lunch box and called Leon, hoping he'd cout.
But Leon was in a meeting with his phone on silent, so he had no clue what was going on.
Tiffany's hand was all sweaty holding the phone. She didn't want to mess up Leon's work, so she waited outside until the food got cold, and still no word from him.
After three hours, Leon finally showed up. She ran over, happy as a clam, but Leon ignored her, and his secretary stopped her, thinking she was just another fan.
She watched his car drive away, feeling crushed. When he got back, Leon just told her not to bring lunch to the office anymore. Later, she found out Leon had left to meet a client.
Thinking back, Tiffany just laughed it off. It was all in the past. She wasn't going to bend over backward for Leon like she did five years ago.
Taking a deep breath, Tiffany walked into the company, where the receptionist stopped her. "Hello, Miss. Do you have an appointment?" the receptionist asked politely.
"Grant invitedover," Tiffany smiled and showed her phone with the text messages from Grant.

After a bit, the receptionist personally led Tiffany inside. "Miss Grey, this way please. Mr. Wall is waiting for you in Mr. Cooper's office." Tiffany nodded and took the elevator to the sixth floor.
When she stepped out, she was surprised to see Leon's office taking up the whole floor.
It was pretty ironic. She'd been Leon's wife but never set foot in his workplace. Now, after the divorce, here she was.
Tiffany smiled to herself and walked towards the office door. As she hesitated to knock, the elevator behind her dinged again.
She turned to see Leon's secretary, Hugo, coming out with a stack of files. He looked just as surprised to see her. Hugo quickly pulled himself together and walked over. "Mrs. Cooper, no... Miss Grey, long tno see. Never thought we'd work together again." When Grant handed him Tiffany's info yesterday, Hugo was taken aback. He knew all about Tiffany and Leon's history. He'd been with Leon for years and even drafted their divorce agreement.
Grant had only joined the company three years ago. He was efficient and patient, quickly becoming Leon's another assistant.
Now, Grant handled all client negotiations outside the company, which was why he was in charge of hiring the designer.
What puzzled Hugo was that when he showed Leon Tiffany's info, Leon was surprisingly calm and agreed to the collaboration.
Leon's decisions were always a mystery.
"Who can say no to Mr. Cooper's money? I can't turn down a million dollars, can I?" Tiffany laughed, easing the tension.
Hugo knocked on the door. As he opened it, Leon and Grant looked over, noticing Tiffany behind Hugo.
"Mr. Cooper, the designer Grant contacted is here," Hugo said, glancing at Leon, who looked stern. Tiffany walked into the office with a light smile. Leon's demeanor immediately turned cold, his gaze locked on Tiffany.
Grant, standing off to the side, looked confused. Leon's stare at Tiffany was pretty intense. 'Didn't Mr. Cooper want a designer? This Miss Grey is top-notch. What's his deal?' he wondered.
"Mr. Cooper, looking forward to working with you," Tiffany said with a smile, but Leon's face just got darker.

"Everyone, leave," Leon said coldly.
Hugo then pulled Grant out of the office, leaving just Tiffany. Leon's gaze locked onto her, his eyes icy.
Leon sneered, tapping his fingers on the table, which was covered with her award materials.
"Tiffany, it seems you cto my company to get close to me. I should have known you like to use these little tricks to get my attention," Leon said sarcastically, his eyes cold.
"Mr. Cooper, you're overthinking. If it weren't for your generous offer, I wouldn't have come. After all, being in the sspace with someone I dislike makes the air feel suffocating." Tiffany smiled subtly, walking over to the sofa and deliberately sweeping the air with her hand.
"Besides, Mr. Cooper could have refused, right? Why agree? Do you have too much money to spend?" Tiffany laughed, watching Leon's face grow darker.
Leon clenched his fists, holding back his anger. Tiffany dared to say she disliked him? 'Hmph!' Leon sneered inwardly. When he found out Grant had contacted Tiffany, he did sdigging on her. Among domestic designers, Tiffany's skills were top-notch. Otherwise, he wouldn't have agreed to work with her! But Tiffany was still all about the money! From the start, he hadn't been wrong about her-Tiffany was vain and scheming! The two stayed silent for a couple of minutes, the air thick with tension.
"So, Mr. Cooper, are you backing out of the collaboration now? If so, let's not waste each other's time. I'll leave." Seeing Leon's dark expression and his silence on signing the contract, Tiffany stood up to go.

He glanced at her sideways. Even if he couldn't get along with Tiffany, he wouldn't jeopardize the company's interests.

"Alright, then Mr. Cooper, remember to transfer the money later," Tiffany said with a smile, walking to the table and signing her nquickly.
Leon glanced at her and handed over the design requirements document. "You better not disappoint me, Tiffany." He leaned forward, getting close to Tiffany.
They were so close, they could hear each other's heartbeat clearly.
Tiffany took the document and stepped back. "Don't worry, Mr. Cooper. I have professional ethics. I'll do a good job for the money." Tiffany smirked and turned to leave the office. Leon watched her leave, feeling an inexplicable sense of familiarity.
The next day, Tiffany passed by the break room and overheard scolleagues talking about Leon. She perked up her ears to listen.
"What's up with Mr. Cooper today? He's in such a bad mood. He was nitpicking in the meeting room first thing in the morning."
"Who knows? I submitted a proposal, and he threw it in the trash just because I missed a few punctuation marks during the review, tellingto redo it with a cold face." "Forget it, just don't provoke Mr. Cooper. We've been at the company long enough to Protempunctuation know his mood swings." Tiffany nodded in agreement as she listened. They were right. Leon had always been unpredictable, smiling one moment and suddenly raging the next.
Seeing them stop discussing, Tiffany turned to head back to Leon's office when a colleague turned to look at her. They knew Tiffany was new and had secured a big deal with Leon. If those words reached Leon's ears, they'd be in trouble. "Miss Grey! You didn't hear anything just now, did you?" The person hurried over, eagerly grabbing Tiffany.
Tiffany smiled awkwardly. Wouldn't it be too fake to say she hadn't heard anything? "You guys are absolutely right. Mr. Cooper is a volatile person. Just thinking about it is scary. It's best to stay as far away as possible. If he catches you..." Tiffany was echoing their earlier comment when she noticed the strange looks from her colleagues, all of them lowering their heads guiltily. She felt a chill behind her and swallowed hard. Tiffany touched her nose. Could it be such a coincidence?
