Chapter 45 Doubts About Bronte Bronte quickly pulled herself together and caught up to Leon in a few strides. "Mr. Cooper, I heard you're looking for partners lately? My cousin..." "No need," Leon cut her off, calmly shutting her down.
Bronte's words got stuck in her throat, and she looked pretty bummed out. She thought if she just spoke up, Leon would at least think about it. She didn't expect him to shut her down so fast.
But if Bronte was anything, she wasn't a quitter. Hiding her disappointment, she put on a pitiful look and said, "Mr. Cooper, are you still mad atfor what happened before?" Leon looked up at her slowly, his gaze dark and unreadable. "I hope there won't be a next time." Bronte's face relaxed a bit, but before she could sit down, Leon spoke again. "Miss Langley, there's something you need to understand. I hope you can letknow before coming to the Cooper Mansion in the future." Leon's serious tone made Bronte freeze, looking lost. She had cto the Cooper Mansion without telling Leon, thinking their relationship was special and he wouldn't mind. But being told off like this, Bronte almost lost her cool.
"Mr. Cooper, I just..." "Alright, Miss Langley, please leave. I have work to do," Leon cut her off again, signaling Damon to see her out with a look.
Damon walked over with a smile and made a "please" gesture. "Miss Langley, this way." Bronte felt a pang of unwillingness, but after Leon gave his orders, he clearly didn't want to keep talking and turned to go into his study.
Her heart raced. With Leon's attitude, could it be that he had figured out her impersonation? Feeling flustered, she lost all interest in Leon's business partnerships and just wanted to get out of the Cooper Mansion as fast as possible.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtLeon had just sat down and was rubbing his temples in the study when the door gently opened, and a small head peeked in.
"Daddy are, you busy?" Barry asked cautiously.
"What's up?" Leon looked at Barry, puzzled.
Barry ran to Leon's side and grabbed his finger. "Daddy, I... I don't really like that Bronte. Why do you... why do you want to be friends with her?" Barry stammered, then quickly lowered his head, afraid of being scolded.
Leon patted his head and said softly, "This is grown-up stuff, Barry. Daddy will handle it. You go upstairs and rest now." Hearing this, Barry could only nod. He didn't expect to drive a wedge between his daddy and the bad woman in one go.
Barry snorted softly and left the study, clenching his small fists tightly. That was the consequence of her threats. Let the seeds of doubt be planted in Leon's heart bit by bit! After Barry left, Leon was still thinking about Bronte. She felt different from that night five years ago.
A phone notification interrupted Leon's thoughts. Casually picking it up, he saw it was from Hugo: [Mr. Cooper, our investigation shows that Harper has already gone abroad.] 'What a pity!' Leon couldn't help but sigh.
He hadn't found Harper yet, and she had already gone abroad? Leon felt troubled again, and a sense of helplessness surged in his heart.
Besides Harper, Leon was still suspicious of Bronte. It seemed he needed to have someone investigate that night more thoroughly.
The next day, Tiffany had just arrived at the stuwhen Bronte showed up. "What are you doing here?" Tiffany frowned, looking annoyed.

Bronte glanced around and lightly brushed her fingers over Tiffany's computer desk. "Tiffany, don't think that just because you sentto the police station, you've won. Mr. Cooper still doesn't like you!" Tiffany stared at her and chuckled. "So what? Did you chere just to say this?" Tiffany didn't care about Leon at all. So Bronte's words were completely irrelevant to her.
"Hmph! Don't think I don't know what you're up to. You say you don't care, but you still hope to reconcile with Mr. Cooper. Otherwise, you wouldn't secretly take Barry out!" Bronte snorted coldly.
Sure enough, when Barry was mentioned, Tiffany's expression changed.
Bronte added, "You want to use Barry to get Mr. Cooper's attention? I'm telling you, it's impossible! If you don't want your other two kids be discovered by him, stay away from Barry! Don't have any contact with Mr. Cooper!" After saying this, she waited to see Tiffany's nervousness and unease. But unexpectedly, Tiffany laughed, her gaze sharp, and she questioned sternly. "So you have no confidence in staying by Leon's side, Bronte? Doesn't he like you? What are you worried about?" Bronte's eyes flickered, as if afraid of being seen through. But soon, she collected her guilty look and pretended to be pitiful. "Even if you want to warnto stay away from Mr. Cooper, you shouldn't question my relationship with him. Even if he doesn't believe me, even if he says he likesas a joke, I'm willing to believe him!" Tiffany was puzzled and wondered, 'Is she crazy? Why is she saying such things out of nowhere?' Before Tiffany could react, Leon's deep voice sounded behind her. "Tiffany, who are you to me? Is it your place to interfere in my matters with Miss Langley?" Tiffany couldn't help but roll her eyes. No wonder Bronte changed her attitude so quickly; she had seen Leon. She turned around and saw Leon holding a doc his face dark.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmTiffany raised an eyebrow, looking at the document in his hand, and sneered. "I didn't know there was a document that needed Mr. Cooper to deliver personally?" Just a heads up: is the only place to read the complete version of this book for free. Don't miss out on the next chapter-visit us now and continue your journey! Leon threw the document on the table, unable to cup with a reason to brush it off. He didn't know what was wrong with him, serving as an errand boy all of a sudden.
An hour ago, Grant told Leon that after the last event, the sales of the clothes Tiffany designed had greatly increased. According to the contract, Tiffany needed to sign a follow-up agreement, and she would also get a share. Leon didn't think much and took the document, saying he would personally find Tiffany. He didn't expect to hear Bronte's words as soon as he arrived at the studio.
Leon coldly explained the work to Tiffany and then glanced at Bronte, who moved to his side, looking pitiful, and wiped her tears.
"Mr. Cooper, it's my fault. I shouldn't have slandered Miss Grey last time. I cspecifically to apologize, but Miss Grey doesn't want to accept it. But it's okay, I did something wrong, and I should be punished." Tiffany almost laughed out loud. Bronte's fake acting was truly eye-opening. "Bronte, why don't you go for an Oscar?" she sneered.
"Enough, Tiffany!" Leon interrupted, scolding Tiffany harshly.
Tiffany's face turned cold, not wanting to continue interacting with these two. Leon was just someone with poor judgment!
She picked up a pen and signed the document, handing one copy back to Leon. "Mr. Cooper, if there's nothing if else, please leave quickly and don't delay my work, okay?" She not only directly asked them to leave but also kindly opened the studoor for them.
Bronte shrank back in fear behind Leon. "Mr. Cooper, it seems Miss Grey really doesn't like me. I I shouldn't have appeared. If only thadn't met you five years ago." Hearing this, Leon glanced coldly at Tiffany, grabbed Bronte's wrist, and left, leaving only one sentence. "You're nothing compared to her." Tiffany's thoughts were still stuck on the "five years ago" Bronte mentioned. She was a bit dazed. What exactly happened between them five years ago? Just as the two left and Tiffany was about to close the door, a large hand gripped the door frame. "Miss Grey, long tno see!"
