We can't delay his treatment any longer." Agnes almost fainted. This was the best hospital in Enswood. If they needed to move him, it meant going abroad, but he was too sick for that.
Agnes felt so helpless she almost cried. Esther went to Pearl for help.
"Can you helpsave him?" Pearl comforted her. "Don't worry. I promised I'd help.' Esther nodded and dried her tears.
When James was moved to a regular room, everyone went to see him.
Agnes looked worried. "Miss Pearl, you're a great doctor, but I don't think any doctor can save him because his disease is genetic. It's very unlikely he'll get better.' Pearl tried to reassure her with a smile. "I can't guarantee I'll cure him, but I'll do my best to improve his condition, so don't worry." Agnes nodded, accepting that this was the only option for now.
After everyone else left, only Adrian stayed with Pearl. She checked James's vital signs and his eyes, then took out her equipment.

Adrian looked at James, who was still and thought Pearl was worrying too much. "He just had surgery, so I don't think he'll wake up anytsoon. "Just to be safe, hold him still
While Adrian held James carefully, Pearl gave James several jabs of medication in different parts of his body, which seemed to calm him.
She did this a few times.
James didn't move at all during the treatment, and just as Adrian was about to way there was no need to worry, an unfamiliar voice said, "Thank you."
